I was looking to other people to help me pick the colors for my quilt. After getting no response I began to think, "Lord what colors should I use in this quilt?" Then the colors purple, blue, crimson/red and white came to me. I began to think what do these colors symbolize in the bible, so I started to google to look for my answers. Here is what I discovered:
Purple: The color purple was found for example in the materials used for constructing of the Tabernacle and Temple. The color purple is associated with royalty and status.
Blue: The color blue is frequently associated with the Tabernacle and Temple furnishings, the sky blue color of sapphire represents heavenly things.
Crimson/Red: Crimson is one of the colors associated with the fine materials used in the construction of the Tabernacle and Temple.
White: In Roman times the giving of white stone symbolized acquittal from crime and innocence. Thus those who overcome sin are purified and cleansed through faith in the Lord Jesus Christ.
Stay tune as I begin this journey to construct the blocks that are associated with the Women of the Bible.

My Audience
One of my goals this year was to get my name out there and have a variety of people visit my etsy shop and to read my blog. So I decided to take a look at the statistics for each one. I was very happy and surprise to see the following:
craftsbyjacqui.blogspot.com- during the week of January 9th thru the 16th had 52 views from the U.S., 17 views from Malaysia and 1 view from Germany.
etsy.com/shop/craftsbyjacqui- so far this month 62 views from the U.S., 3 views from the United Kingdom, 2 views from France, 2 views from Germany, 2 views from Australia, 2 views from China, and 1 view from Austria.
I think so far so good I have reached a pretty good amount of people.

Happy New Years
As i sit here hours before 2014 i reflect on the things of this past year. I do think that it was a successful year. As it was suggested last year to write down our goals, write the vision and make it plain. God has blessed me so much this year and my prayer is for him to continue to bless me. Happy New Year and lets remember to keep God first and everything else will fall into place.

Preparing for the New Year
As we wind down for the end of the year, I look back on how I started this year. Business for me started off slow but I did not let that get me down. I was determined to make my business successful. With a lot of prayer things started to turn around for me and business started to pick up. In October things really picked up with people requesting for me to make costumes and it has been going every since.

My Etsy Shop
I have been signed up for Etsy for quite some time. In the beginning I used it just to look around to see what was out there. I then decided that I would create my own business, and so on December 31, 2011 I fulfilled my goal for that year and registered as Crafts by Jacqui. My next step was to set up my Etsy page to begin to sell from there. Well my thinking was that I would list everything at one time, so I discovered I would never get anything listed that way. I started off with 4 things listed and those 4 things did not go anywhere. I was easily discouraged and figured it was not meant for me to do things this way. To tell the truth I just was a procrastinator and did not put the energy into posting things. Well to make a long story short (oops too late) 8) I have been posting items on almost daily basis and I have had several visits to my shop and sold my first item last Saturday. Hard lesson learned, do not procrastinate just get up and do it.

News and Updates
Things seem to be going pretty well. It has been awhile since I have written anything. That is one of my goal for 2014 is to try and write something a couple of times per week.
Last I wrote that I was doing a boutique in October and one in November. The one in October was okay I only sold 2 items so therefore I did not make my cost back. The one in November was much better, I made my cost of the booth back plus a little more. I also met this lady name Barb and her daughter who are apart of the Handmade of South Bay. She invited me to join there group. There next meeting will be in December.

This year has met with many challenges, however I am keeping my head up. My first fair for this year that I did back in March turned out okay. However okay is not enough for me I feel that I need to do more. I have scheduled 2 more craft fair for this year. One at the end of October and one at the end of November. I am working really hard to get an assortment of items done for both of these boutiques. I have also been approach to make Halloween costumes for a mother of 2 whose mother was going to make the costumes but passed away 2 weeks ago. I am staying busy which is great and I am loving it.
My fair lady
My life these days have had some ups and downs. I have decided that I need to get my hustle on with getting my business going better than it has been over the last 2 years. My goal is to get my name out there and to do at least 3 fairs this year. I had this goal last year however I only did 1 fair and even though it could have been more successful at least I passed out some cards.
I was so truly blessed from the sermon at Moutaintop Faith Ministries on the last Sunday of 2012. The theme was "Speak That Thang", the pastor talked about speaking those things into existance as though they were. So with that I spoke that I would like my business to be more successful this year that what it was last year. I have since joined OC Boutiquers and have schedule my first fair of 2013 on March 16th at CalvaryChapel in Downey.

Motivation
There are so many things that are running thru my head right now. I have found my first craft fair for 2013. I am trying to get things in order so that I have a variety of things to offer as well as alot of each item. My goal today was to come home and get started, however after only having 2 hours of sleep last night I am starting to wear thin. There is a movie that is coming on that I really want to watch so I need to move from the bed to the sewing table. Wish me luck.
